
The
makers initials "W.H." can be found just under the hinge on both the
original as well as the copy. The main difference between this and the original
badge is that the copy is what is called a flat back whereas the original has a
semi depression to the reverse on the rifle butt. Another major difference
between the original and copy are that the copy is in fact larger than the
original being approx 63 mm high and 48 mm wide with the original measuring
approximately only 61 mm high by 48 mm wide these copies are being made in
Austria and also come complete with paper award packets as well as boxes. So
far none seen have had the early olive bronze finish that you encounter on
original war time bronze award pieces below shows the copy on the left and the
original on the right.
